Porsche 993 Top control unit (993 618 313 00)
This unit is a newly manufactured replacement for the original Porsche 933 top control module. It is supplied as a 100% new part and does not require a core exchange. Installation is plug and play.
The design is based on the original control unit but incorporates key improvements developed through years of servicing the factory version.
Design and Construction Notes:
- Uses 99% surface-mounted devices (SMD/SMT) to improve resistance to vibration and thermal cycling.
- Metallized through-holes on the circuit board help prevent cold solder joints and improve electrical reliability.
- Fitted with new relays that handle current and temperature loads more effectively than older designs.
- Internal layout revised to address weaknesses observed in previous factory versions.
- The NEW top control unit is covered under a 5-year limited warranty.
Known Symptoms of Faulty Factory Units:
- Convertible top is unresponsive.
